Heat recovery from humid air to water

The Challenge 0

GRO Industrier, Tönsberg, Norway, produces potato chips. The exhaust air from the process line is not only warm and humid, but also very greasy.
The first challenge was to recover the energy to water with a temperature rise of 70 °C, which requires the water leaving and the air entering to have nearly the same temperature.
The second challenge was to condense out enough moisture to eliminate ice formation on the roof in winter.

The solution

Airec Cross 30 – With even better performance than planned.

The result

The figures below explain why GRO had to take several measurements to confirm the extremely impressive performance. The greasy air has not caused an increased pressure drop.
