GRO Industrier, Tönsberg, Norway, produces potato chips. The exhaust air from the process line is not only warm and humid, but also very greasy.
The first challenge was to recover the energy to water with a temperature rise of 70 °C, which requires the water leaving and the air entering to have nearly the same temperature.
The second challenge was to condense out enough moisture to eliminate ice formation on the roof in winter.
